Analyst at Securing America’s Future Energy (SAFE), a nonpartisan
Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit aimed at reducing America’s dependence
on oil. Paul is a member of SAFE’s policy team, where
he conducts research, writes analysis, and contributes to the
development of policy recommendations designed to strengthen the case
for accelerating the adoption of alternative transportation fuels and
insulate the United States from global oil market volatility.
Paul is a regular writer and contributor to The Fuse, a news and
analysis site that seeks to improve the public’s understanding of energy
security issues.</p><p>Prior to joining SAFE, Paul was the data
coordinator and research assistant for Dr. Danilo Yanich at the Center
for Community Research and Service. His graduate research, which
explored how news media ownership structures affect news content,
helped inform legal arguments before the Federal Communications
Commission with regard to the permissibility of shared service
agreements and led to the reexamination of political news coverage by
local news media outlets. During Paul’s tenure at SPPA, he
was a legislative fellow at the Institute for Public Administration and
coached a community development group in Wilmington, Delaware. He was a
Ronald E. McNair Scholar, James R. Soles Fellow, and Editor-in-Chief of
New Visions for Public Affairs, SPPA’s journal
