Undergraduate public policy students study public affairs and get real-world experience.

As a public policy major, you will gain the knowledge and skills to help effect change in the public, nonprofit and private sectors as an entry-level analyst, public official, or community or civic leader. You will learn about the intent, impact, benefits and disadvantages of public policies associated with social issues, the economy, the environment, and community development.

Youll be given an opportunity to examine complex public issues and the policies developed to address them through a set of multiple disciplines such as:

Sociology
Education
Leadership
History
Political Science

You will create an individualized academic plan with your Academic Advisor, and your course of study will vary depending on course offerings and your background, interests, and academic preparation.

The public policy major courses fulfill 30 credits of the total of 124 credits required for the B.A. degree. The average number of credits each semester ranges from 12-17.
