The Biden School works with the University of Delaware Career Services Center (CSC) to provide critical skill development opportunities and employment search tools. When you graduate with a Biden School degree, you are armed with a world-class education and skillsets that prepare you to be an asset in all types of organizations, and we want to make sure that your future employer will see your potential for success.

Together with the CSC, we offer many career services events and resources, including:

• Career counseling one-on-one counseling with our CSC liaison
• Job search and application workshops just for Biden School students resume building, networking, effective use of LinkedIn, and more
• Employer networking nights nonprofit and governmental organization leaders network with our graduate students
• Employer panels an opportunity to get your questions answered by the people who might hire you after you graduate
• UD in D.C. a networking opportunity with Washington, D.C.-based employers
• Employer relations outreach to employers that are of interest to current students
• Job search resources including subscriptions to Opportunities in Public Affairs and CareerShift
• Career fairs on campus

One of the hallmarks of your education in the Biden School is our emphasis on experiential learning—​we weave opportunities to get hands-on, real-world experience into the fabric of our graduate programs. We believe that our students need to be equipped with first-hand, practical knowledge of how theories work in actual organizations to be successful once they graduate. This is achieved in a variety of ways, including through our graduate research assistantships in research and public service centers.

We also emphasize the importance of internships and help guide our students through the process of securing meaningful, valuable internship opportunities at various government offices at the local, state, and federal levels, nonprofits and NGOs, and sometimes in international organizations.

Our faculty and staff have a large network of professional connections, and we leverage that network to help our students get the real-world experience needed to build their professional skills. We are also often able to help graduates secure interviews at organizations where we have connections and contacts.
