The University of Delaware sets the graduate tuition rate, which typically changes each year. All on-campus Biden School graduate students are given a scholarship, which decreases the out-of-pocket tuition cost. You will be eligible for one of the three types of scholarships below. More than one cannot be applied.
University of Delaware employees receive a tuition benefit as part of their employment, and therefore do not receive the Biden School tuition scholarship. Students in the online MPA program are not eligible for the Biden School graduate tuition scholarships described below.
Public or Nonprofit employment scholarships:
Research and Teaching Assistant Scholarships*:
*Research and teaching assistantships are not guaranteed. You will receive an offer letter if you are elected for a research or teaching assistantship.

The Biden School provides financial assistance to some graduate students through research assistantships
by the Biden School-affiliated research and public service centers. Research
are competitively awarded to full-time students who are registered for
at least nine graduate-level credit hours per regular semester. Get more
details on research assistantships, and be sure to fill out the Biden School Supplementary Information Form with your application in order to be considered for an assistantship.
As a major source of support for the University of Delaware’s diversity
efforts, Biden School receives several
University Graduate Scholars (UGS) awards each year for graduate
students. A UGS award comprises a full tuition
scholarship for the academic year (fall and spring semesters) and a graduate student
stipend. University Graduate Scholars are expected to work in one of
Biden School’s affiliated research centers for 20 hours per week during the
academic year. Get more details on UGS awards as a funding opportunity for your graduate study.
