Required Materials for Graduate Program Applications

When applying to a Biden School of Public Policy & Administration graduate program, the following documents must be submitted online through the graduate application system. Please do not attempt to mail any printed copies of materials, as this may cause delays and errors in the processing of your application.
- University of Delaware Graduate Admission Application.
- One copy of the unofficial transcript(s) for all colleges and universities previously attended that documents and shows all undergraduate and graduate-level work completed.
- A current resumé.

Three letters of recommendation. It is suggested that at least one be an academic recommendation. You are responsible for entering the recommenders' names and email addresses, and then the application system will automatically contact your recommenders for their letters to be uploaded online.

Personal Statement. Please follow the submission instructions in the Graduate Admission Application.
- Biden School Supplementary Information Form: Word version or PDF version
- Nonrefundable university graduate application fee of $75.
- The Biden School accepts IELTS and TOEFL scores as indicated on the Graduate Admissions Test Score website: Grad Admissions Test Scores
- M.S. Disaster Science and Management Applicants: An academic writing sample is required. This should be uploaded at the end of the application where you are able to attach additional documentation.
Graduate Program Application Deadlines

Applications must be filled out online and complete to receive full consideration and review by the admissions committee.
Fall Semester Admission
The priority deadline for full-time fall semester admission to all Biden School graduate programs is December 15.
Historic Preservation Certificate applicants must apply by August 15 for fall semester admission.
The following programs have Fall admission only and do not accept Spring admission:
- M.S. Disaster Science and Management (M.S. DISA)
- Master of Public Health (MPH) in Health Policy and Management
- Master of Energy and Environmental Policy (MEEP)
- M.A. in Urban Affairs and Public Policy (MA UAPP)
Spring Semester Admission
The deadline for applications for spring semester admission is January 15.
The following programs accept both fall and spring admission:
- Master of Public Administration (MPA) - On-Campus and Online MPA
- Master of Public Policy (MPP)
Historic Preservation Certificate applicants must apply by January 31 for spring semester admission.
