| Hira Rashid | 2015 | M.A. | https://www.bidenschool.udel.edu/Images Profile Alumnus/Hira Rashid.jpg | Doctoral Candidate and CCRS Graduate Assistant | <p>Hira Rashid (M.A. '15) is a SPPA doctoral candidate in Urban Affairs & Public Policy and a Graduate Assistant at the Center for Community Research and Service. Hira's academic background is based in Islamabad, Pakistan, where she completed a bachelor's degree in social sciences with a focus on development studies and international relations. </p><p>Hira was an ardent community activist and civic engagement proponent during her undergraduate degree. Upon completion, she was recruited by AGEGeG consultants, based in Kirchheim unter Teck, Germany as a communication and coordination manager for the regional office in Islamabad. </p><p>In 2013, Hira received the Fulbright grant for a master's degree in Public Policy and started the M.A. in Urban Affairs & Public Policy program at the University of Delaware. Her master's thesis focused on an empirical evaluation of a multi-million dollar USAID funded maternal and reproductive health intervention in Pakistan. </p><p>Encouraged by her advisers and professors at UD, Hira enrolled in the doctoral program in Urban Affairs & Public Policy. Her research interests include global health, health financing and economics, health service delivery and development aid in health.
