Angalet (Ph.D. '00) is a Senior Advisor and Special Projects Coordinator at
Nemours Health & Prevention Services (NHPS). In this role, Gwen provides
leadership to NHPS’ relationships with the institutions of higher learning and
community partners in Delaware to ensure that NHPS works closely with those
entities on programmatic and research opportunities to promote the health of
Delaware’s children. She also oversees
NHPS' internship program to ensure that NHPS is linked to institutions of
higher learning across the country in order to provide opportunities for
students to learn from and with some of the country’s most dynamic resources in
the health promotion field. Gwen provides strategic advice on NHPS' programmatic
work to ensure that it is well integrated and achieves maximum high-level
sustainable impact for children. During her tenure with NHPS, Gwen has served
as Managing Director and Director of Strategic Partnerships and Program
Integration. Her career in Delaware
public service spans two decades. She was previously Special Assistant to the
Secretary, Delaware Department of Services for Children, Youth and their
Families, where she provided direct support to the Cabinet Secretary in the
development of policies, programs and community resources to improve the
quality of services for children in crisis. She also served as Director of
Management Services and Acting Director, Division of Child Mental Health
Services within the department during her tenure. Gwen earned her bachelor’s and master’s
degrees at the University of Florida in food science and nutrition and her
doctorate in urban affairs and public policy at the University of Delaware. She has been active on the alumni board of
SPPA since her graduation, serving as president for part of that time. Gwen has
dedicated her life to helping children and young people to achieving their
