Pierce</strong> (formerly Sarzynski) is the director of undergraduate studies and associate professor at the University of Delaware's Biden <a href="https://www.google.com/url?q=https://www.sppa.udel.edu/&sa=D&sntz=1&usg=AFQjCNGiwwUJOaRMwQJvKc_AIEf931hh5g" target="_blank">School of Public Policy and Administration</a> and the <a href="https://www.google.com/url?q=https://www.ceoe.udel.edu/schools-departments/department-of-geography&sa=D&sntz=1&usg=AFQjCNFwv0PKg5nPu5sJyf5ox3suEKLPIw" target="_blank">Department of Geography</a>. She has faculty affiliations with the <a href="http://www.google.com/url?q=http://www.denin.udel.edu/&sa=D&sntz=1&usg=AFQjCNF7oiRWA6CN2Qkob8WrpK3fr_zvcw" target="_blank">Delaware Environmental Institute</a>, the <a href="https://www.google.com/url?q=https://www.drc.udel.edu/&sa=D&sntz=1&usg=AFQjCNEIGMZLxZHFPIDeC7QKYYpdi14vEg" target="_blank">Disaster Research Center</a>, the <a target="_blank" href="http://sites.udel.edu/engage/">Community Engagement Initiative</a>, and the <a href="http://www.google.com/url?q=http://www1.udel.edu/watersciencepolicy/&sa=D&sntz=1&usg=AFQjCNEcVmC9rR_Ja0jfOpft8s3rE_Zm3w" target="_blank">Graduate Program in Water Science and Policy</a>.
Her research interests include urban governance, climate change policy,
carbon footprints, urban land use, shrinking cities/suburbs, and
renewable energy policy. Prior to joining the faculty at Delaware, she
worked at the <a href="https://www.google.com/url?q=https://gwipp.gwu.edu/&sa=D&sntz=1&usg=AFQjCNGk2m2HVtkyaBMfs5qht1766nsVEg" target="_blank">George Washington Institute of Public Policy</a> (GWIPP), the <a href="https://www.google.com/url?q=https://www.brookings.edu/program/metropolitan-policy-program/&sa=D&sntz=1&usg=AFQjCNHfmnQBeRVd6-wsAz5Ouc3qp0yffg" target="_blank">Metropolitan Policy Program at the Brookings Institution</a>,
the Rochester Institute of Technology, the White House Council on
Environmental Quality, and the environmental law practice at <a href="http://www.google.com/url?q=http://www.sidley.com/&sa=D&sntz=1&usg=AFQjCNFuwFrA4Js7GtiKzK4TrI6Ju2juhg" target="_blank">Sidley Austin LLP</a>.
Andrea has published reports for GWIPP and Brookings, and academic
articles in public policy, geography, environmental studies, and urban
affairs. Andrea has a Ph.D. in public policy and public administration
and a Master of Public Policy (M.P.P.) from The George Washington
