Happy #MeetUsMonday! We have an amazing team of staff members at IPA that we can't wait for you to meet. This week, we would like to introduce Sean T. O'Neill, policy scientist at the Institute for Public Administration (IPA) and president of the Delaware Chapter of the American Planning Association (APA). Sean's expertise can be found between the public and private sector which makes him a dyanmic part of the IPA team.
What is working at IPA like?
IPA is the ideal job for me that I never knew existed and never planned on finding. It is a great environment to work in with great people who are all focused on public service. I love working at IPA because it allows me to bring my background working in both public sector planning & zoning and private sector real estate development to the table to help bridge the gap between the public and private world for our partners.
Describe IPA in 3 words.
Flexible, Interesting, Rewarding

Where is your happy place?
Any new place, but especially cities and towns. As a planning nerd I love finding the uniqueness in all places within our built environment and what it means for the people who have lived there, are living there today, and who will be living there in the future.
What is something people don’t know about you?
I worked at a golf course for 10 years (ages 10-20) and used to be a competitive golfer.
What has been your favorite project at IPA?
Working with DelDOT to give private sector feedback and analysis for their Transportation Improvement District program.
