Happy #MeetUsMonday! We have a whole bunch of new staff members at IPA that we can't wait for you to meet. This week, we are highlighting Lori Spagnolo, policy scientist at the Institute for Public Administration (IPA) who works as an essential member of the Grant Assistance Program (GAP) team.
We asked Lori a few questions including her experience at IPA thus far, and these are her responses:
What is working at IPA like?
I am truly blessed to be working at IPA! Everyone is so passionate about the work they do. The leadership team is incredibly supportive and genuinely interested in your professional development.
Describe IPA in 3 words.
Inspiring, Creative, Uplifting.
What hashtags describe your personality best?
#committedtoabetterworld, #naturelover, #proudmom, #humble, #silly
Where is your happy place?
I grew up at the beach in NJ, and had an amazing childhood swimming, fishing and crabbing with my friends. The beach will always be my happy place. I get cranky if I go too long out of salt water, lol.
What is something people don’t know about you?
I got my scuba certification when I worked at the National Aquarium in Baltimore and got to dive in the reef tank.
What has been your favorite project at IPA?
I love being part of the GAP team. We’re all committed to helping Delaware’s local governments achieve the vision for their cities and towns. Everyone we work with is so appreciative, and it’s rewarding to know we’re making a difference.
