#MeetUsMondays are officially back! We have a whole bunch of new staff members at the Institute for Public Administration (IPA) that we can't wait for you to meet. Today we are highlighting Chase Barnes, Assistant Policy Scientist at IPA, who played an integral role in the development of the Grant Assistance Program (GAP).
We asked Chase a few questions regarding his experience at IPA thus far, and these are his responses:
What is working at IPA like?
It’s easy to work at IPA! The leadership has fostered a great workplace culture. The staff are all dedicated, driven, enthusiastic, and friendly. The work itself is fulfilling. I am proud to be a part of something bigger than me and that has had a legacy and impact in Delaware for 50 years!

Where is your happy place?
My happy place to “escape” is the beach. When I'm not at the beach, my go-to happy place is anywhere that involves watching or playing sports.
What is something people don’t know about you?
In May and June of 2014 I walked 555 miles across Spain; from France to the Atlantic Ocean.
What has been your favorite project at IPA?
I’m biased because it’s my primary focus, but the Grant Assistance Program (GAP) has been my favorite project so far. I've been here since day one of GAP and it’s exciting to see how much we have accomplished in such a short time. It feels a lot like a public service start-up.
