Changing the World and Public Policy (UAPP110)

“Going Green,” the haves and have-nots, relevant politics - all huge contemporary issues. Can you get a job AND make a difference? Public Policy addresses such issues and begins with you. In this course, you’ll examine basic policy concepts/strategies used by citizens, government and other societal institutions.

Class convenes online Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and is instructed by Dr. Philip Barnes.

Advocacy and Social Change (UAPP167/LEAD167)

This course introduces the people and organizations making social change in the United States, including activists, social movements and nonprofit organizations. You will learn about identifying and defining a social cause in which they believe and would like to influence, the people and organizations involved, the ways to advocate for change, and the career paths open to social activists in the nonprofit sector.

Class is delivered asynchronously online and is instructed by Dr. Jessica Sowa.
