Roosevelt Institute to host regional conference, discuss policy issues
8:35 a.m., Nov. 13, 2012--The Roosevelt Institute at the University of Delaware
will host the Mid-Atlantic Regional Conference for one of the largest
student run policy initiatives in the nation from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.,
Saturday, Nov. 17, in the Gallery Room of the Perkins Student Center.
The conference seeks to expand connections, inspire collaboration and cultivate policy ideas for Americas future.
Roosevelt Institute at U.D. expects about 50 student peers in
Roosevelt chapters at American University, Goucher College, the
University of Maryland at College Park, the University of Pennsylvania,
the University of Edinburgh, the University of Richmond and Georgetown
University to attend.
The Dream Act, Maines lobster industry and Sino-American relations are just a few items to be discussed.
A member of the Roosevelt Campus Network,
which engages young people in a unique form of progressive activism
that empowers them as leaders and promotes their ideas for change,
Roosevelt Institute at UD is a registered student organization started
by five undergraduate students in the School of Public Policy and
Administration in 2011.
