A new policy brief on the COVID-19 vaccine, A Safe & Effective Vaccine for COVID-19: Opportunities, Challenges and an Equity Imperative, is now available. Authored by Erin Knight, assistant professor and associate director of UD's Partnership for Healthy Communities and the Center for Community Research and Service, the brief was developed with input from students who participated in an optional, extra-credit assignment in the spring 2020 Introduction to Public Health course.
The brief gives valuable information about vaccine development, potential risks of fast production, and the needed attention to equity and racial justice with respect to distribution of the vaccine. The policy brief is available here. Readers are welcome to distribute to others who may be interested.
