New Release of Health Equity Guide

The Delaware Division of Public Health (DPH) announces the release of the second edition of the Health Equity Guide for Public Health Practitioners and Partners.  The Guide highlights the best available evidence and data to explain the connections between the social determinants of health and good overall health with a focus on structural racism as a fundamental cause of health inequities. In a press release of February 4, 2020, DPH Director Dr. Karyl Rattay stated:  "Everyone - regardless of race, religion, political belief, ability, sexual orientation and economic or social condition - has the right to a standard of living adequate for optimal health. The Guide is authored by Erin Knight, PhD, MPH, Associate Director of the Biden School Center for Community Research & Service and Associate Director of the Partnership for Healthy Communities; Kalyn McDonough, MSW, Graduate Research Assistant for the Partnership for Healthy Communities and a Biden School doctoral candidate; and Cassandra Codes-Johnson, MPA, Associate Deputy of the Delaware Division of Public Health.
