Minion K. C. Morrison, professor in the Biden School of Public Policy and Administration, has been awarded a grant of $25,000 from the American Political Science Association (APSA).
Morrison will lead an international team of scholars from the USA and Brazil in organizing workshops and producing comparative academic research products on the subject of race and democracy in these two countries as well as in the rest of South America.
Morrison anchors a team that has engaged in collaborative work in this area since the late 1990s, previously sponsored by the National Science Foundation and the Ford Foundation. The initial workshop in the APSA grant (2018-2019) took place in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil in late fall of 2018.
