Erin Knight, MPH, PhD, Associate Director of CCRS and Assistant Professor in the Biden School, has been appointed to a newly created AstraZeneca US Health Equity Advisory Council. As a science-led biopharmaceutical business, AstraZeneca recognizes that systemic barriers exist, impacting millions of Americans’ ability to access the right treatment at the right time to achieve the best possible health outcomes. The Advisory Council will help AstraZeneca advance health equity through a long-term, community investment strategy. Dr. Knight will join a distinguished group of external community leaders, academics, healthcare professionals and nonprofit executives with relevant expertise and commitment to advancing health equity and eliminating disparities in care. During its inaugural year, the Advisory Council members will help shape AstraZeneca’s US non-profit engagement roadmap and advise internal project teams working to advance health equity across the business—ultimately helping AstraZeneca to better serve communities and help individuals lead healthier lives.
