A series of issues briefs and documents were released this week from a project entitled Researchbased practical guidance to address unsheltered homelessness, co-authored by Barbara Poppe, of Barbara Poppe and Associates, Stephen Metraux, Associate Professor at the Biden School of Public Policy & Administration and CCRS Director, and Mimi Rayl, CCRS Graduate Research Assistant.
These documents are based upon an extensive study of innovative local responses to unsheltered homelessness taken in nine localities across the US. Through the project, stakeholders in localities throughout the US are able to access "evidence-based guidance and best practices, addressing the harm of punitive policies, management of public spaces, and low-barrier solutions." The project is funded by Arnold Ventures.
