Did you know that IPAs staff members are just as varied and interesting as our many areas of expertise? On #MeetUsMondays, well feature a different member of our team each week in the hopes that you can get to know us better.
Lets meet Leann Moore. We asked Leann five questions, read on for her responses:
Who are you?
A dog lady and wanna-be librarian committed to making the community a better and more connected place. Im an extroverted introvert, who's loving spending this at-home time in our beautiful state and local parks (dont worry, all social distancing practices are being used).
What are you working on?
I'm updating the 2020 Municipal Clerks Institute classes, while also launching a new project with the Delaware Division of Libraries on mapping social justice initiatives in Delaware. I'm also honored to be a co-chair on the Biden School's new Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Working Group.
Where are you working?
I just bought my first home in Newark. Ive set up a home office in my third-floor loft. I fluctuate working between there and my comfy reading chair in the living room. My house has tons of natural light, so working from home has given me an office with a view!
Why do you do this work?
As a life-long Delawarean, I absolutely love our home and its connectivity. I cannot think of a better way to give back to the community that has given me so much, than supporting the states current and future leaders with research, training, and planning.
What are you doing when youre not working?
Reading and walking (not at the same time). I love to read literary fiction, historical fiction, and the occasional memoir. I average 80 books a year. I also take my pup, Jynx, for 2-3 walks a day. We have perfected how to best chase a squirrel.
