Happy #MeetUsMonday! We have a whole bunch of new staff members at IPA that we can't wait for you to meet. This week, we are introducing Marta Driscoll, grant analyst II at the Institute for Public Administration (IPA). Marta plays an integral role in the execution of valuable projects taking place at IPA by providing accounting and compliance support.
We asked Marta a few questions including her experience at IPA thus far, and these are her responses:
What is working at IPA like?
If you are passionate about public service, there is no better place to be at the University of Delaware than the Institute of Public Administration (IPA) at the Biden School. As a grant analyst, I support the valuable work done by each of our service divisions: Education, Planning and Transportation, Conflict Resolution, Water Resources, and what I call IPA Student Opportunity Programs. The units address local and state public policy and administration problems through service and research while leveraging their projects and community engagement to expand the opportunities for Biden School students. IPA is a place of collaboration, innovation, and engagement and each day I learn something new. I feel extremely lucky to be here, and to be surrounded by such a smart and caring team of professionals.
Describe IPA in 3 words.
collaborative, service-oriented, student-focused

Where is your happy place?
I like to believe that a happy place is as state of mind, but if I had to choose it would be anywhere with family and/or friends, good food, and conversation where a simple phrase sparks a song lyric memory followed by several members of the group breaking out into song, and maybe even a dance.
What is something people don’t know about you?
I am a first-generation American and only my parents and I live in the US. The rest of my family lives in other countries Poland, Germany, New Zealand, England, and Scotland.
What has been your favorite project at IPA?
In my role I provide accounting and compliance support for IPA projects, rather than services directly to sponsors, however I am a big fan of the Local Grants Assistance Program. As a council member for the Borough of Chester Heights, Pennsylvania I have a deep appreciation for the value the team brings to guiding local municipalities through the grants process.
