Over the past 3 years, CCRS researchers have been participating in a multi-state Opiod Use Disorder (OUD) study with 11 other states in AcademyHealth's sponsored Medicaid Outcomes Distributed Research Network (MODRN). The consortium is examining the Medicaid population within each state; studies range from OUD rates, ED use, overdose rates, residential care for all Medicaid clients with OUD 12-64 and also focuses on the continuum of care for postpartum women with OUD. Each state involved has not only University researchers but also representatives from the state Medicaid agency. This collaboration between universities and state agencies broadens the understanding of the OUD issue for each state and the wider research community.
Postpartum Follow-up Care for Pregnant Persons With Opioid Use Disorder and Hepatitis C Virus Infection, published this May in Obstetrics & Gynecology, is a product of this consortium and highlights the low treatment rate in six states among women with OUD who tested positive for hepatitis C during pregnancy. The lead author, Marian Jarlenski, University of Pittsburg discusses the findings of this study here.

The consortium continues work in this area and just received notice yesterday that three manuscripts had been accepted for publication to three different journals. Look for future news on these publications! For more information about this project, please contact
