Steve Metraux and Katie Gifford discuss Homelessness poster with DHSS Secretary Walker
On January 30, Center for Community Research and Service (CCRS) Director Dr. Steve Metraux and CCRS Associate Policy Scientist Dr. Katie Gifford presented a poster, Identifying Homelessness in the Delaware Medicaid Population, that won both Best Research Poster prizes (judging committee and popular vote) at the Research, Innovation and Humanity (RIH) Day. RIH Day gives Delaware Department of Human and Social Services (DHSS) agencies and their collaborators a forum to display their research, innovative projects and special programming. The winning poster, which showed findings on the utility of using indicators of homelessness from Medicaid administrative records, comes from a joint project between CCRS (Metraux, Gifford and Mary Joan McDuffie), DHSS’s Division of Medicaid and Medical Assistance (Dr. Elizabeth Brown, Medical Director) and Christiana Care’s Value Institute (Dr. Navin Vij, PI). This research team continues work on writing up the project findings for submission to a peer review journal. More information from RIH Day is available at: https://guides.lib.de.us/dhsslibrary/rih.
