The Organizational and Community Leadership minor provides an opportunity for students from a variety of disciplines to gain a substantive introduction to the concept of leadership and the application of leadership to designing, managing, and evaluating change in our public, private, and nonprofit organizations. The hallmark of the minor is a focus on how vision, integrity, change, communication, decision-making and evaluation influence leadership and shape change in organizations and in the community.
The minor in Organizational and Community Leadership requires 18 credit hours distributed as follows: all core courses listed below (9 credits) and three additional courses of restricted electives (9 credits). Three credits of the restricted electives must be a COMM course. The remaining 6 credits must be selected from outside the student's major field of study. All courses included in the minor must be completed with a grade of C- or better.
